Driving to St Simons Island:
If you’re coming from the north, driving south on I-95:
- Take exit 38 off I-95.
- At the end of the exit ramp turn left onto the Golden Isles Parkway (GA route 25 spur) and go 4.4 miles.
- That takes you to the end of the Golden Isles Parkway. At the end you are forced to turn right (south) onto Glynn Ave (US route 17). Once on Route 17 go 1.5 miles.
- There’s a major traffic light (with 3 left-turn lanes) to take you onto the Torras Causeway to the island. Turn left onto the causeway.
- Take the Torras Causeway onto the island (about 4 mi). Once on the island there’s a big round-a-bout (it’s so big you won’t even know it’s a round-a-bout) which forces traffic to the right. As you’re going around the round-a-bout the take the first exit Kings Way.
- Go about 2 miles and at a traffic light (Mallery St) you’ll see St Simons Village to the right. But keep going straight a few more blocks until the flashing yellow light. Take a left there onto Demere Rd.
- Go 1/2 mile on Demere and you’ll see Cummings Lane on the left. It’s a narrow lane and easy to miss, but just before you get to it you’ll see a red brick church on the right. So go left onto Cummings.
- We’re the 3rd house in on the left side of Cummings.
If you’re coming from the south, driving north on I-95:
- Take exit 29 off I-95.
- At the end of the exit ramp turn right onto US Route 17. Continue past the Jekyll Island Causeway and go over the Sidney Lanier Bridge (big suspension bridge).
- About 3 miles past the end of the bridge take a right onto the Torras Causeway (to St Simons Island)
- Take the Torras Causeway onto the island (about 4 mi). Once on the island there’s a big round-a-bout (it’s so big you won’t even know it’s a round-a-bout) which forces traffic to the right. As you’re going around the round-a-bout the take the first exit Kings Way.

Flying to St Simons Island:
- You can fly into Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and rent a car to get to St Simons Island. It’s about 70 minutes to drive to the cottage from JAX. Follow driving instructions above (coming from the south, driving north on I-95).
- You can fly into the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) and rent a car to get to St Simons Island. It’s also about 70 minutes to drive to the cottage from SAV. Follow driving instructions above (coming from the north, driving south on I-95).
- You can fly into the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport (BQK). You can rent a car to get to St Simons Island. Or if you choose not to have a car you can get a taxi or use Uber to get to the cottage. Driving time from BQK is about 25 minutes.
- You can fly a private plane to the Malcom McKinnon Airport (SSI) on St Simons Island. The airport is a county owned, public use airport and is about 5 minutes from the cottage.
We feel that while it’s nice to have a car during your visit, it’s not absolutely necessary. The beach is in walking distance (about 10 min) and we provide a beach cart for all your stuff. The Pier Village is about a 20 minute walk and there are plenty of restaurants and bars in addition to local shops. There are several other restaurants and bars within walking distance from the cottage.
Of course, it’s nice to have a car if you’d like to do some off-island activities or just some grocery shopping. But Winn Dixie is less than 2 miles from the cottage, so Uber or a taxi is an option.
