St Simons Island has great beaches and our cottage is a short walk to the nearest beach access.
You can easily walk to First Street Beach in about 10 minutes. The walk from our cottage is through a quiet local neighborhood. This is a great beach because it’s around the point from the more popular parts of the beach. You can also drive about 5 minutes to get to the beach at Massingale Park or at the Coast Guard Station Beach.
Goulds Inlet is at the north end of East Beach. It separates St Simons Island from Sea Island.

Saint Simons Island is a very dog friendly place. Your dogs will love the waves when the tide is coming in and low tide is perfect for those pond loving swimmers. During the quieter times before Memorial Day weekend and after Labor Day dogs are allowed on the beach at all hours. During the busier time of the season dogs are allowed on the beach before 9:00 am and after 6:00 pm. By local law dogs are allowed off lead if they under your verbal control. It is great fun to have a place where your dogs can run free.

Jekyll Island is a 30-minute car ride and has many interesting activities and lovely beaches to enjoy. It is the home of Georgia Sea Turtle Center which is an education and rehabilitation facility with a small museum and turtle hospital which offers public tours. You can also see the mansions of Rockefeller,Vanderbilt, and others and play some croquet.

Or just take a bike ride…
