Review Your Stay at arli cottage
Perfect Getaway! My husband, lab retriever and I had an absolutely wonderful time at this cottage. This home was so inviting, peaceful and relaxing! It was such a plus that it was close to everything. We enjoyed our early mornings stroll at the nearby beach and village with our dog. Art was so very helpful and offered recommendations for golf courses nearby. We highly recommend this cottage and look forward to our next visit! Yolanda Roswell, GA August 2022 Just like homeThis cottage is absolutely adorable. Everything your could possibly need was in this home. I could have prepared a gourmet meal in this kitchen. Love the outdoor shower, coffee in the morning on the front porch and wine in the evenings on the rocking chairs. The cottage was within walking distance of the beach and the village. We rented bikes and rode all over the little community. Our puppy Gracie loved chasing the lizards on the front porch. All the people who we spoke to along the way were so welcoming and pleasant. Thank you for hosting and including our precious dog. Sue Mobile, AL August 20 - 27th 2022 Perfect Family Vacation Home!We love this cottage! We have been staying here almost every summer for about 8 years. The place has everything you could want or need. It is clean and a place that you really feel at home at. The sun room is probably our favorite thing because we love how relaxing it is to sit out there. It is where most of our meals are eaten and game nights are played. The cottage has a ton of books and games to choose from. Another feature we love is the outdoor shower! It’s perfect when you get back from the beach. We have even stayed here during Thanksgiving and the kitchen had everything I needed to cook a full meal! Art and Linda are amazing renters! They take good care of their cottage and make sure to help you with any recommendations you might need. We always look forward to seeing what new upgrades are done every year! Seth and Jessica Marietta, GA July 2021 The perfect, tranquil placeI just had the opportunity to stay at Arli Cottage. It is the perfect, tranquil place. Their cottage is perfectly located on St. Simons, only minutes away from the village, from beaches, and from quaint, unique places to shop and explore. Their two bedroom, two bath home is sanitized and clean. If you wish to cook and stay in for dinner, their fully equipped kitchen offers everything you need for any type of meal. If you enjoy time on a deck, they have a beautiful, large deck adjacent to the cottage in their huge fenced in back yard. Their location is pet friendly. The cottage, located in a neighborhood, is perfectly secluded with beautiful plants and trees. When working with Art and Linda in setting up your reservation, they provide excellent, friendly, and courteous customer service. If you are looking for a nice, perfectly located, peaceful spot to rest and relax, then this is your place. George Sarasota, Florida September 21 through the 27, 2020 A Wonderful Stay at Arli CottageThe cottage is lovely. It is cozy, has a lush yard with several places to sit outside and enjoy, and all the supplies you possibly could want. Art and Linda were great to work with and seemed genuinely concerned that everything be perfect for their guests. Our little blind kitty was welcomed as well. The location is so convenient, with two beaches and the downtown area with lighthouse within walking distance. Within 1/2 to 1 hour’s drive, there are numerous historic sites, dating back to early 1700s, and beautiful wilderness areas like Cumberland Island National Seashore and Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island is just minutes away. Winged, four-legged, six-legged, and eight-legged critters abound! We would unreservedly recommend Arli Cottage to anyone wanting to visit St. Simons Island! Teri, Mark, and Bluebell Eureka, IL 5 September - 12 September 2020 Renting Arli Cottage is a treat!Renting Arli Cottage is a treat! The cottage is charming, beautifully equipped, and the yard, both front and back is lovely and restful. The owners go out of their way to accommodate their guests..Arli Cottage is situated in a quiet neighborhood, convenient to beach and village. M. Atlanta June. 2020 Most Relaxing Vacation Ever![]() I have viewed https://arlicottage.com on the internet for about three years now. Wow—we have been here for 8 days and it has been everything we hoped for and then some. Our vacation highlights: We cannot wait to come back! Kari & Thomas Blairsville, GA 11/3/18 - 11/13/18 A little slice of heaven![]() We spent 8 wonderful nights at Arli cottage which was not near long enough. Their home is very comfortable, spacious, and inviting. The beds and pillows are really nice and comfy. They have a walkin closet, so cool. The kitchen has everything you can think of and then some. I like to cook and this was a big plus for us. There are many different spaces to hang out….a large front porch with a swing and rockers(perfect for coffee or a glass of wine) a screened in porch for breakfast and planning your day, living room, dining room and back patio for dinner, sunbathing, stargazing. There were millions of stars to see which was a treat for us. The yard is beautifully landscaped……they have lime trees with limes on them! They have an outdoor shower which is absolutely divine. We are now going to build one here at our house. They also have a keypad lock so you never have to worry about remembering to take or losing their keys. This is so convenient. My 2 dogs immediately felt at home there. I believe they thought it was their new house and they were super happy with the choice. The backyard is fenced in and they had a great time investigating every inch of it. The backyard is also very private due to the high fencing and plants. There is much to do and see on the island itself…..beach, lighthouse, great restaurants, shopping, kayaking, horseback riding, historical buildings and sites, etc, etc,. Jekyll Island and Cumberland Island are next door for more adventures. And Savannah and St. Augustine are not too far away. So it’s a great area to visit that would take you a long time to experience it all. My 2 dogs(Ruby and Teddi) had such a great time. They loved the beach and became puppies again……..it was magical! The hosts (Art and Linda) are very friendly and personable. They really have created a wonderful space to relax and enjoy your stay on the island. Karen St. Louis 9/8-9/16 Home again @ Arli Cottage![]() This was our second stay at Arli Cottage and it felt like we had come home. Even our family dog, Clementine knew the cottage as soon as she walked in. Arli Cottage is quiet and comfortable. It is within walking distance to the beach, a multitude of restaurants, the pier, the lighthouse and many interesting shops. If you prefer to eat in, you will have everything you need to prepare your meals in the kitchen. David, Karen and Clementine S. Spring Hill, Tn. 9/23/18-10/1/18 Fantastic visitIt was so nice being on S.S.I again. We visit a few times a year for the past several years. We have stayed in a condos most visits. It was just wonderful to stay in a home, no stairs, dog friendly and a well equipped kitchen , with a herb garden in back and plenty of cook books to pour through. The cottage was roomy and furnished very nicely. We enjoyed both the front porch area and used the ceiling fans out there during the hot days. The back deck was also very nice . Karen Acworth, Ga. August 11, 2018 Gets better year after year!!Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! I’ve lost count, but it was either our 6th or 7th summer at Mr Art and Ms Linda’s cottage. We absolutely love the location and the amenities!! We feel as if we are at home. You will find everything you need including every utensil for cooking….which we do quite often. The outdoor shower is the greatest!! And location… you’re just a short bike ride or walk to the beaches and the village. As usual, we have already booked for next summer. St Simons Island and Arli cottage ..our favorite place to be !! Thanks again Mr Art and Ms Linda. Missy Vardaman MS July 21-28 We love this cottage![]() We got married at the Lighthouse at Saint Simons back in 2011, and try to visit the island as much as possible. We love staying at arli cottage with our dogs. Art and Linda are great hosts — and we like working with them. Their home is comfortable, clean, well-stocked and located in a great area. We have spent three vacations now –and have already booked our trip for 2019! Katherine B Atlanta, Georgia June - July 2018 (11 nights) GreatThis is our second year at the cottage and we enjoyed our time there as much as ever. We always hate to leave! The cottage was in great shape as was the outside areas and plants. So glad we found this wonderful place. margy marietta june 2 through june 9, 2018 Very cozy retreat…Having just spent a week at Arli Cottage, we are excited about the cottage and St. Simon Island. Arli Cottage provided us with everything we needed in a home away from home, plus gave us easy access to all that is available on the island. The cottage was a very cozy retreat after a day at the beach, in the Village or exploring the Island. The personal attention from the owners of Arli Cottage before and during our visit added to our enjoyment. We highly recommend Arli Cottage for your next visit to St. Simom Island and we hope to return in the not too distant future. Elaine N.
Loved it…My husband & I have loved St. Simon’s Island for many years and several years ago discovered “Art & Linda’s Cottage.” We have simply loved it and have been able to bring our beloved poodle with us. We go every year along with my sister and her husband and their maltipoo and it our “home away from home.” Not only do we love the cottage, but we feel like the owners are now our friends. The cottage is always clean and very well stocked and we find it always in excellent condition with new repairs very year. We have never lacked for anything! The mattresses are great and we sleep great, walk the beach, visit the quaint downtown and explore. The cottage has great TV reception along with Netflix. Groceries are cheaper than at home, so wait to buy them there, although with many fine restaurants, it’s temping not to cook. The cottage is very well decorated and has a fenced it yard for the pets. Newton C.
Third time…We have spent our third time here in St Simons at your cottage. I have rented more than a dozen homes over the last eight years in various locations. This is by far the finest home with the finest owners we have known. Thank you for being so nice to us. Steve R.
Our Second Year Here…Our second year here and it was every bit as great as the first. Excellent place with everything you need and we can bring the pups. Your every need has been anticipated. Art an Linda are great folks and will take care of you.
Great! You lack nothing at Arli cottage. Charming, comfortable, convenient cottage.
Perfect getawayThis cottage is perfect. It’s comfortable, comveniently located to the beach and the village (walking distance), and on a quiet street. The outdoor shower is absolutely fabulous. The owners are very attentive and do everything possible to make sure your visit is the best it can be.
Wonderful Pet Friendly Beach Cottage
“Comfortable, Private, Relaxing”This was our second year staying at Art & Linda’s Cottage, and we look forward to returning year after year. It’s very comfortable and private and just a short walk to the beach. It has that locals beach feel to it, not touristy or over-crowded. The cottage has lounging space indoors and out, and we spent a lot of after-beach time just hanging out on the porch. If you have children, there is a small skate park and playground about two blocks away, plus Art & Linda have plenty of board game, puzzles, and books. There are great restaurants in The Village, and Winn-Dixie is very close for groceries if you prefer to cook. I could go on and on, but I won’t. I DO, however, want to close by saying that Art & Linda are an absolute pleasure to do business with; very organized, great communication, great follow-up, considerate, and warm vibe. I look forward to vacationing in SSI at Art & Linda’s from the day we leave the cottage to the day we arrive the following year.
“Wonderful”The cottage was clean cute and well stocked. We could not have asked for more.. Easy and pleasant walk to beach. The food at the village was great and the people very friendly. Very pet friendly and we had a great vacation.
It’s like our second homeJust like the last three years, our fourth stay at Mr Art and Ms Linda’s cottage was wonderful!! And as always, we didn’t want to leave. It is quite frankly, a jewel….quaint and cozy, and perfectly located on the island to everything!! Thank you again for opening up your home to us! We will be back next July….
AnonymousGreat Holiday at SSIThis was our second visit to SSI and the same home. It is just a great place for the sun, beach and a really nice home for us and our two 4 legged children. Art and Linda provide everything you will need for your stay. We arrive one week after the hurricane and Art had the house ready for our stay with everything cleaned both inside and outside of the house. The beach is a short walk d=from the house. We are looking forward to next year for a return visit.
SteveFlat Rock, NCIt was a great stay. Look forward to staying at this house in the future. We had at great stay at this property and look forward to future stays.
Tom J.Loved it, already booked next year – Has a nice Key West feelI have to say that this was one of the best vacation places I have stayed at. Every need has been anticipated and catered to. We were able to take our dogs and they had a wonderfu timel. The hurricane was moving in so we had a lot of contact and exchange of information with Art & Linda. I have to say they are one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to do business with. I am a dog groomer and sent the info on the cottage to all my facebook friends who are always looking for places that take dogs.
Gary S.Super comfortable and beautiful gardenThe cottage looked as photogenic in real life as it does in the pictures of it. Everything, the rooms, layout, etc. was extremely well thought out. I don’t like a/c and though you definitely need it; it was nice to be able to keep it turned down and use fans which are everywhere, including the porch. The beds and furniture were again, extremely comfortable and well placed. I loved all the closet space. My partner is a slob but with all the storage space, it was easy to keep things looking tidy. I like to cook and the kitchen was a great place to cook in. Our friends couldnot make it but I think this cottage is ideally suited for a faily get-together or two couples, etc. I emailed Art several times for suggestions re music, sights to see, etc. and he was extremely helpful. My partner is a history buff and we particularly enjoyed Fort Frederica, even me, who did not think it would be interesting at all. We loved the sea kayaking, Jekyl Island for the driftwood beach, and a Restaurant called, I think, “828” recommended by our kayak guide.
Marjo N.Super Nice OwnersArt and Linda are very good to work with. They are quick to communicate and answer questions. They are real people and treat people as they would like to treated. Would highly recommend them and look forward to booking again in the future.
Sheila W.Adrian, GA (Scott Community)Very cozy, welcoming and well-stocked cottage. Close to the beach, village, restaurants & pets OK.We felt so welcomed when we arrived at the cottage. It’s exactly as it’s advertised – very clean and stocked with so many items you would never think of to bring from home (and would have to buy). It’s right in the heart of SSI – close to the beach, village, biking trails, restaurants. Our pets thoroughly enjoyed their stay as well. The outdoor shower makes it easy for pets and people to wash off sand from the beach and take showers too, as it’s very private. The back yard is fully fenced and there are so many places to walk dogs, even the beach during certain hours. We loved the screened porch to sit out for breakfast or dinner, and the backyard deck. The kitchen has every conceivable utensil you would need to prepare a gormet meal. There are TV/DVRs in every room. The furniture is new, clean and comfortable. There were also welcoming fresh flowers, bottle of wine and a few chocolates upon arrival – even a dog bed to use – all very nice touches that definitely make this cottage feel like home.
Dorothy B.Home away from homeWhen we opened the door to the cottage, it felt like home. Everything from the decor to the accommodations lets you know that you’re welcome. The cottage is located close to the beaches and village while still offering the privacy that we wanted. Art and Linda are great and have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and easy. We loved our stay here and can’t wait to come back. It is truly a home away from home.
Mike and Kathy M.“A real home away from home.”The cottage is as pictured and Art & Linda are very accommodating and pleasant to work with. The kitchen has everything you need for meal preparation. They have a wonderful book collection and an assortment of board and card games. The location is walking distance to the beach and a very short drive to the Village. My husband actually walked our dog to the Pier and back nightly so if you like walking, that’s doable too. The section of beach is WAY less crowded than East Beach and the visitors and locals were friendly. Our children traveled with us and on the days that we didn’t go to the beach they enjoyed the skate park and playground that was only 3 blocks away. We all enjoyed lazing around on the front porch in the rocking chairs and swing. This trip, and specifically staying at Art & Linda’s cottage, provided the perfect environment for family bonding. We will definitely be back next summer, and the summer after that, and ….
“Great location and very dog friendly cottage”This was my first time renting this cottage (late June/early July 2016) – and I enjoyed it so much that I’m renting it again in 2017. I spent 6 nights here with my husband and two dogs and we were happy the entire time. Art and Linda’s cottage had everything we needed for a relaxed vacation. The cottage is also close to the village and the beach which is an added plus. The cottage is close to the village and the beach which is an added plus.
Alex & ValerieIt’s our second time renting with Linda and Art. They are so nice. They are above and beyond our expectation. We love the cottage it is perfect for a nice quiet vacation a walk from the beach. Close to everything. Beautiful cottage. Thank you for spoiling us! Can’t wait to come back next year!
Valerie P.Georgia“Relaxing home”We really enjoyed this home and so did our dog. She slept on the screened porch the entire week. Quiet, relaxing and comfortable. We hope to come back soon.
PerfectThis cottage made for the perfect vacation. The cottage is lovely and comfortable and the fenced in yard is beautifully landscaped and provided a safe place for the fur babies to play. It is walking distance to the village, beaches, and a short bike ride to the local produce stand and seafood shop. The owners are great and have thought of everything to make their home your home during your stay. Did I mention the outdoor shower? Just awesome showering under the bright blue sky with the sun shining in. We’re ready to book our next vacation here.
AnonymousSmyrna, GAA Sweet CottageThis cottage was so comfortable — gorgeous landscaping, inviting front porch, a screened in lounging/dinning area and comfortable interior. Just perfect in every way. We shared the cottage with another couple–plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked and well used– mostly for breakfast and snacks, as we enjoyed the many good restaurants in the area. We would certainly recommend this cottage and would not hesitate to plan a return visit!
Fred A.Close to everything- perfect house!!We loved the house and it’s amenities. The house house has everything you need such as laundry facilities, dishwasher, linens provided, great furnishings, blue ray, wifi, and a wonderful fenced in backyard and outdoor shower. We walked to the town area everyday our trip. This house is great for a family, two couples or even just a romantic getaway!!
Tallie S.A great getawayOur plans changed at the last minute and my wife got lucky and was able to book Art and Linda’s place at the last minute. Upon arrival, our expectations were exceeded by this modest and charming little house. Located in a quiet neighborhood, it is very private with large trees and high fences in the back yard, which we appreciated for our little dog, as well as the invigorating outdoor shower! We liked the shower so much, we never used the ones inside. The inside is clean and inviting, and includes all the amenities you would ever need: internet, cable TV, blu-ray, fully equipped kitchen, laundry, etc., but there is so much to do and see on the island, as well as great restaurants, if you’re sitting around watching TV and cooking in, you’re missing out! We found the bed quite comfortable with nice quality soft sheets. Towels for the showers are provided. The front door locks with a keypad, which is great as there is no house key to lose and no risk of getting locked out. The pier/lighthouse area, as well as the beach and all the restaurants there, are no more than a mile from the house. We didn’t mind walking, but don’t expect anything to be less than 10 minutes away by foot. Many people on the island use bicycles or golf carts to get around. Overall, we highly recommend this house for one or two couples looking for a romantic and secluded house that is great for dogs and offers all the comforts of home at a reasonable price.
Nashville NewlywedsNashville, TNA wonderful getaway on St. Simons Island, GAAs long-time visitors to the Georgia coastal islands, this house was a great find. Early November was the time we chose this year; and these accommodations couldn’t have been better for these two retirees and our dog. It seems like all the details of what we need in a house, had been thought of and supplied in thoughtful ways. The furniture was comfortable and carefully chosen, the kitchen was well equipped, and the front porch, back patio and screened room all added to the enjoyment of the home. The entire property was well maintained. Had we needed it, it was also good to know that a local housekeeper was just a call away; as were the owners for any questions. The only initial annoyance was the land phone which rang often with solicitation calls; it was unplugged on the first night. We tend to usually cook local seafood and produce, rather than go out. Both are plentiful in the Fall. The best shrimp and fish we’ve found is at the City Market in Brunswick. One of the SSI shopkeepers mentioned that a new fresh seafood place has opened near the hospital in Brunswick (a woman’s name?), but we haven’t tried it yet. There were still some produce stands open near the airport and Redfern Village. St. Simons is full of shops, restaurants, etc. A favorite shop for eclectic home stuff is “Simons” on Mallory St. in the village. In the same area, “Nature’s Gifts” has beautiful jewelry, including a huge selection of fresh water pearl pieces. “Barbara Jean’s” has excellent crab cakes (Tidewater Maryland/Virginia style), but tends to be crowded during the high season and holidays. Café Frederica clearly has the best shrimp salad sandwich on the planet; it’s not in the Village, but a bit further out, off of Frederica Rd. The best beach for walking, sitting on a bench, or birding is the Gould’s Inlet area of East Beach. There’s a very small parking lot, but the space turnover is pretty fast. However you prefer to spend vacation time, St. Simons is a good choice. This house on Cummings Lane is certainly at the top of our numerous vacation rental experiences. Thank you to the owners, Art & Linda, for making this home available.
Carol L.“A LITTLE PIECE F HEAVEN ON ST SIMONS”After searching online for a pet friendly rental on St Simon’s Island, I found Art & Linda’s cottage. We were impressed with the online pictures so I got in touch with Art and after a very pleasant conversation we booked the house. Art was very nice and booking the house through TripAdvisor was easy. Art always promptly answered phone calls and emails and was a pleasure to deal with. This was our first time renting a house on vacation and we always take our Chihuahuas with us so we needed the perfect spot where we could rest and they could play. Art & Linda’s cottage was perfect for us. We arrived on St Simons a little bit earlier than scheduled and on the way received a phone call that the house would be ready before we got there. After an 8 hour drive, that was a big plus for us! When we arrived at the property we were in awe. The house is even more beautiful than the online pictures. There was a bottle of wine, chocolates and a nice note from Art and Linda waiting for us on the dining room table which was something we weren’t expecting so it was a nice surprise. The house is roomy with two bedrooms and bathrooms, a living room, dining area and a nice kitchen that was stocked with all the amenities of home, including an electric wine bottle opener. The house was also very clean and inviting and we were very pleased with everything. The backyard is completely fenced so our Chihuahuas could explore without worry while we sat on the lovely back deck. There is a screened in porch on the side, a nice porch across the front and comfortable seating on all three. The house was spotless and the couches in the living room very comfortable as was the bed. We didn’t want for anything after we got there. It was like home away from home. The house is also in a nice neighborhood and separated from the other houses by fencing and pretty plants and foliage. Art & Linda take pride in their property and it shows. We were comfortable enough leaving the babies at the house while we went out for a romantic dinner. It was very quiet and peaceful at night and on our last night we sat on the front porch and listenend to Martina McBride perform at the nearby airport. Incidentally we didn’t hear any planes coming or going even though the PGA Tour got in full swing in the middle of the week. The house is convenient to everything and within a short walk, you can be at the lighthouse, the pier or the village in a matter of minutes. We ate some wonderful seafood on the island and recommend Iguaga’s in the village, Gnat’s Landing, Delaney’s Bistro and Tramici in town and Crabdaddy’s just a short ride around the corner from the house. St Simons is also an hour away from Fernandina Beach, FL and we spent a couple of days there having lunch, shopping and enjoying the gorgeous beach with our little ones. Even though we didn’t meet Art and Linda in person, through our phone conversations and emails we felt like we got to know them some and you couldn’t ask for nicer people to deal with. We even received an email the same day we left letting us know that our security deposit was being refunded! That was quick! We hope to visit St Simon’s again and we hope we can rent Art & Linda’s house again when we do. We wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else! We were also blessed with beautiful weather all week so we considered this house and it’s grounds a little bit of Heaven on St Simons.
“A wonderful cottage and fantastic week”Art and Linda’s cottage was immaculate, well decorated and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable which is essential. Having the back yard fenced in made it very easy with our “girls” ( a standard and miniature poodle) and our bigger poodle claimed “Buddy’s” bed as her own. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and cooked three nights. The cottage was very cozy and my sister and I enjoyed just sitting and knitting. It was a fantastic week and we plan to go back to this cottage same time next year!
“Could not have been better”The cottage is warm, perfectly appointed, and spacious. The location is prime with the Village and Beach so close and convenient. Owners, Art and Linda, provide many things other renters do not, such as toilet paper, laundry and dish detergent, a nice bottle of wine, and everything you need for that first pot of coffee should you not wish to go shopping when you first arrive! I would recommend the property to everyone looking for a relaxing, inviting place to vacation. I know I certainly will be back!!
“Enchanting Cottage”We were in love the moment we drove up to the cottage. We found everything in place to make our stay comfortable and convenient. If we needed a corkscrew it was there, laundry detergent, beach towels it was all there. We were fond of the out door shower and loved all the landscaping. We would love to come back and bring our doggies next time. It was convenient to shopping, walking and bike trails. The beds slept comfortably and we used the roll away sofa too. There wasn’t a thing that we needed that we didn’t find. Thanks for a lovely getaway. Look forward to our return soon.
“Awesome”My wife and I enjoyed the cottage and everything that Art & Linda did to make it feel like home. We took their advice and tried the outdoor shower and we loved it. We will be booking the cottage again!
“Our Island Cottage Vacation”Our stay at Art and Linda’s Island Cottage was fabulous. The cottage was completely equipped, very comfortable, clean, and within walking distance to the beach and village. Art and Linda are great hosts and very willing to help in anyway they can.
“Home Away from Home”This home was wonderful. Well maintained with a beautiful setting inside and out. Fenced in yard for your pets. All the basics and more were provided along with a BBQ. A great place to relax and enjoy SSI. I will recommend this cottage rental to everyone!! I give it 10 stars.
“I so enjoyed my stay. Art & Linda are top notch owners.”This cottage was so much nicer than I even expected! Clean, comfortable, best location. The owners went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. Absolutely loved their outdoor shower, screen porch, and the huge new deck. They even promptly mailed me some clothes I had left in a dresser drawer! Art and Linda are tops in my book and I will be returning!
“The Place To Stay!”We loved Art and Linda’s so much, we are already talking about going back. Very relaxing, unique island that is very animal and people friendly. You feel at home from the local restaurants in the village and the awesome Harris Teeter down the road, loved the fresh pizza. The house makes you feel like your right at home, very nice and everything you could need is provided. Art and Linda keep you totally informed, and are always available to answer any questions. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and wineand a welcoming clean lovely home. We loved sitting on the front porch and rocking and watching the lovely scenry around us. And when the evening chilled we had free wifi and lots of movie channels to watch if we wanted. They even had games provided. Great place to stay and explore the island with it’s mystical live oaks and spanish moss and the perfect place for day trips. We went to St. Augustine one day (2 hour drive but well worth it ) stopped at Jacksonville on the way back for dinner. Spent the day in Savannah and rode the Segways on a historical tour, loved it! Went to Jekyll Island one day and had an awesome meal of Shrimp and Grits at the Driftwood, best deal at a great price and lovely atmosphere. We ate at Southern Soul bar=bq which was some of the best barbeque I have eaten and I come from the barbeque capital of the world. Of course the island is a treat in itself and we want to go back to spend more time exploring it and enjoying Art and Linda’s cottage. If your life has been stressful and you need fun, relaxation and excitement rolled up into one vacation, you have found it here! (Of course climb the lighthouse).
“Relaxing in St. Simons Island”Great cottage, just a short drive to the beaches, stocked fully with anything and everything we needed, especially the kitchen. Very comfortable 2BR 2BA with a screened in porch that we really enjoyed after grilling out back. Close to the Pier, beaches, restaurants and shopping. Loved the tidal changes and the wildlife. Art and Linda were very accommodating and very easy to contact. We would definitely stay there again!
“Cozy Cottage”We really enjoyed staying at Art& Linda’s cottage. It is very close to town and you could walk there if you wanted to. The accommodations were perfect for us and it was totally relaxing. While we didn’t do much cooking (breakfast only) it looked like there was anything you could possibly need in the kitchen. We would definitely recommend this cozy little cottage!
“Exceptional Cottage and Owners”This cottage reaches out to you and screams relaxation and fun, as you enter the drive from a very quiet street. The front porch has a great swing and several rocking chairs. The fully equipped kitchen, well appointed and spacious rooms, easily sleeping five, and it’s pet friendly too. Welcomed by a note and bottle of good wine from the owners, followed by their telephone call to ensure everything met our satisfaction. An easy walk to parks, the village center, and good restaurants for the meals you choose to eat out. You can park your car for the entire visit unless you visit Christ Church or some of the other interesting local sites outside the village. This is easily the best value of any place we have rented in our travels and Art and Linda are great to work with. Our first visit was only four days but our return visit will be much longer. and Bentley (our Yorkie) wants to return too.
“Sublime and Superb On Every Level!”My husband and I had three nights reserved for his past week, along with our two West Highland Terriers, Trevor and Katie. Art and Linda were great from the get-go! We received a telephone contact before anything, to get acquainted. It went smoothly from there. We knew what to expect, and were made to feel welcome for every aspect of our first visit to St. Simons Island. We were so sad by the second night, knowing the next day would be our last. We checked the calendar and realized the night after was not rented. My husband called art and were were thrilled to be able to rent it as well, spending four nights. There is a collection of books, booklets, pamphlets and magazines full of everything you will need, including maps, to discover the surrounding Islands near St. Simons. This little home really is a “home away from home!” Each time I thought of something that we had forgotten, we checked, and found out that sure enough, Art and Linda had provided it. We could not have asked for better service. Plenty of fresh sheets, light and heavier blankets, big, thirsty towels, kitchen utensils/gadgets, soap for the washer/dryer as well as laundry baskets! They even supply charcoal and lighter for the barbecue! It is relaxing, cozy, quiet, clean, efficient place to vacation. From a cozy bed to sleep in to coffee on the front porch in the morning to barbecue on the screened in porch for supper, this house is wonderful. We slept like babies, and so did the dogs. Everything is within walking distance or a short drive. We visited Jekyll Island with the dogs, and had a nice picnic. Thank you so much, Art and Linda! This little beach house and your hospitality made our vacation more than just memorable. They made it unforgettable.
“A wonderful, homey retreat!”Art and Linda’s cottage and the owner’s made us feel right at home the minute we opened the door! It is comfortable and well stocked, clean and in a very peaceful neighborhood. The only thing we needed to provide was a few groceries for meals and snacks to get us through the week. If you are bringing your pet, there was a nice doggy bed in the house and their street is perfect for dog walks. Only minutes from the beach, walking there or to the village is a pleasant stroll of 10-15 minutes, with little traffic and lots of homes and parks to walk by/through. If you are looking for a relaxing, homey rental cottage, we think you’ll get your money’s worth staying there. We’ll be back again!
“Great stay in a charming cottage with all the comforts of home.”We were looking for a last minute stay that didn’t fit most of the standard timelines. Art and Linda were very flexible and met our needs perfectly at a good price. The cottage is in a great area, on a quiet street, walkable to beaches and the village. Well maintained and fully equipped. We’ll definitely look to return.
“Comfortable vacation week in an adorable beach home.”We had a fun week in St Simons and enjoyed our stay in your darling home. Thank you for all your thoughtful touches…like the delicious bottle of wine that greeted us after a long day of travel. We enjoyed the screened porch for eating breakfast and playing games at night. We found the location to be convenient to the Village, beaches and restaurants.
“Great vacation cottage!!!”We spent 8 nights, and the cottage had everything we needed. Very convenient location. We brought our bicycles, which worked out great as the area is very bicycle friendly (for casual cycling). We had our 11 month old grandson, and it was very convenient to have the crib and highchair. Saved us from having to bring one along, which would take up a lot of space in the car. Art and Linda were very good to work with, and answered questions quickly. You can tell they really want all their guests to have everything just right for their stay.
“We loved it and our 2 dogs did too!”What a wonderful place to spend a week and unwind and see the dogs unwind also. Art and Linda we’re wonderful to work with and our thanks to them for providing a very comfortable place with all the things a person could possibly want or need. Our weather was not great so we got to spend a lot of time in the cottage, i.e., we never had the opportunity to walk to the village or sit, at night, on the front porch. However, no problems and no complaints! We will definitely come back to the cottage. It left a very good taste in our mouths.
“This is a place that feels like home and allows you to relax”We felt so much at home staying here! The owners were friendly and very helpful when making plans to vacation in a place we had not been before. The rental definitely provides much privacy compared to other places we saw because of it’s location and fences that separate the homes all around. For those who love to walk everywhere and leave the car at home, this is definitely a place to stay. We walked often to town where there are many nice shops, and places to eat and be entertained. For those who like some adventure, we enjoyed biking around St. Simons as well as Jekyll Island to the south. We totally enjoyed our kayaking tour through the marshes out to the ocean. When we felt like the beach, it too was an easy walk mostly through enjoyable side streets. The rental itself is well cared for, spacious and comfortable. The separate bathrooms for each room made it very easy for all of us who stayed. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of both the screened in and open porch. Definitely places to hang out, relax, and enjoy the live oaks that surround you. We are so happy to have found this place and look forward to coming again.
“The Perfect Vacation Rental”We enjoyed our stay at this cottage very much. The location was great – only a few blocks to the beach and a nice walk to the village. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and had a very well-equipped kitchen with everything I needed. I loved just sitting on the front porch and will definitely stay here again on my next trip to the island. The owners were great to work with too.
Perfect! My Mom, my dog Liberty, and I just got back today from a wonderful week at Art & Linda’s lovely cottage. The cottage is just as nice and spacious as it looks in the photos and was clean, comfortable and well-stocked with everything you could possibly need. Beds and sofas were comfy! I have stayed in several other Homeaway rentals in different places and this cottage was the best. Art & Linda have taken care to make this feel like a home and we felt welcome from the minute we walked in – including a bottle of wine, chocolates and a dog biscuit on the dining room table 🙂 We thoroughly enjoyed the Village and walking through the shaded neighborhoods. We ate lunch at Palm Coast in the Village three times (one lunch we took to Hofwyl Plantation to have a picnic on the beautiful grounds). Highly recommend Del Sur Bakery on Ocean Blvd.!! Everyone I spoke to – from servers to shopkeepers to fellow dog walkers – was so friendly. This was our first visit to St. Simons and we definitely want to return! Thank you Art & Linda for sharing your sweet cottage!
Lynda, Brenda & LibertyPalm Coast, FLOasis… sanctuary… get-away from the worldArt & Linda, your cottage is fantastic! If it weren’t for responsibilities here at home, I think you would have had a hard time getting us out the door upon check out time… So relaxing. So calm. So beautiful. So well appointed for a stint away from home. Not having to make beds or dig out towels when we arrived was a treat. Not having to find a bottle of wine (or puppy treats) for that first evening was refreshing. Not having to worry about our dog (or kids) escaping from the back yard was helpful. We were comfortable and thrilled to be there. We walked to restaurants in the village (Palmer’s, Mellow Mushroom), played in the playground by the water, and explored the area with abandon (Turtle Sanctuary, Coast Guard Beach, the pier, the local National Parks). And returned “home” each evening to put the kids to bed and sit on the “inside-outside” porch, fan cooling us, drinking wine by candlelight. It was a dream. Thank you.
DC MomDC Metro AreaLoved the cottageIt felt like home and I felt like I knew Linda and Art. The only problem was having to leave this retreat away from home. I came home wanting to change some things and incorporate some of the ideas of these wonderful people whom I’ve never met.
JudyOrmond Beach, FloridaHome Sweet Home!!!![]() This was our 3rd year staying at Art and Linda’s. Everyear I never want to leave. Art and Linda make sure we have everything we need to make our stay more than comfortable. . I cannot say enough about this cottage. It is heaven.. I can take my precious dogs, whom are our babies. Nice fenced in backyard with no worries of escape. My husband loves the outdoor shower. The beds are incredibly comfortable. You have provided all the comforts of home, right down to plenty of hangers, I cannot think of anything they haven’t provided. The beaches are so close by, and wonderful food!!! When you stay at this cottage, you will see what I am talking about. When you arrive, there is always a bottle of wine and chocolates and doggies biscuits. . Thank you so very much Art and Linda for sharing your beautiful cottage on St. Simons Island. We will be back!!! Donna M.Conyers, GeorgiaPerfect Island GetawayMy husband and myself have been lucky enough to stay on SSI for the past 24 years at a relatives house. Sadly for us, the house was sold last year. Happy for us, we found Art and Linda’s cottage! Extremely clean and welcoming, fully stocked, and in a great location. When we weren’t on the beach or visiting shops, we spent time relaxing inside, watching the rain from the front porch, or enjoying some sun on the back porch. Our 2 small dogs came along, and it was bonus to have a fenced yard to let them explore. We plan to be back soon.
Tracy U.Atlanta3rd stay at this perfect island locationThis was our 3rd summer to stay in Mr Art and Ms Linda’s cottage. We absolutely love the cottage, it’s location, and the graciousness of the owners!!! It is located on a very quite lane within walking and biking distance to the beaches and village/pier area. We daily ride our bikes and walk to the beaches, village shops/restaurants and the pier!! The cottage is fully stocked with everything needed. You just come and enjoy your stay with no worries or hassles. We are already planning our trip back to the cottage next July.
AnonymousBeautiful pet friendly get awayWe stayed at Art & Linda’s beautiful home in mid July. This is a hot a humid time on SSI, but their home has the screened in porch and shaded lot that is perfect for days like these! The cottage is about a 10 minute walk to the beach, close enough that you don’t need to rent a bike. The house and yard is very pet friendly, we had 2 small dogs that loved exploring the completely fenced in backyard. We’ve stayed at places all over the country using VRBO and this place was one of the only ones that had everything stocked (laundry soap, trash bags, towels, dish soap, etc). I don’t mean just the complimentary, you can do one load, they had enough for your entire stay! I must say that this beautiful cottage is worth it and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you to our wonderful hosts!
Candace N.Noblesville, INArt and Linda’s CottageThis cottage was by far the cleanest, well furnished, most thoughtfully stocked beach rental I’ve ever stayed in. Art and Linda took care of all the details so we only had to make a trip to the grocery store for food and we were set. The home is beautiful inside and out and the front porch, screened in side porch and back deck really set it apart from other properties. When I return to St. Simons Island, I will not stay anywhere else!
Arin D.Amazing location, peacefull, and relaxing cottage!Wow! This cottage perfect! There were so many things to do within walking distance. We loved going to “myrtle beach” on 1st, and walking to the village to see the shops and fishermen on the pier. The cottage has everything you could ever need on a vacation and was all nicely organized. Art and Linda are great owners that show pride in ehat they have and you can tell when you talk to them that they enjoy letting you stay in their home. When we return to st simon we will definitely be staying here again!
Jacob V.Art & Linda’s cottageMy wife and I enjoyed the cottage and everything it had to offer. We liked the outdoor shower and the front porch. We will be booking again for next year!
Keith M.LexingtonKeith & Shauna MaineWe had a great stay at the cottage and it has all of the comforts of home. We walked to dinner one night from the cottage and it was a easy walk. We are planning to book again!
Keith M.LexingtonA Perfect Cottage! My husband & I along with our 2 dogs enjoyed our stay very much. When we arrived it was like walking into a comfortable & cozy home. Everything you need is there. We were able to prepare our Thanksgiving meal while there & enjoyed our holiday immensely. Our dogs loved the fenced in backyard. We enjoyed the deck & BBQ. St. Simons is a beautiful place & there is plenty to do. When our time was up we didn’t want to leave. Since then we visited SSI again & had the opportunity to meet Art, Linda & Buddy. We met at the cottage as they were staying there. It was like meeting old friends. They truly seem to like sharing their paradise with everyone. Of all the rentals we have stayed, this was the best. We would definitely stay at the cottage again if it were available.
Sharon K.MinneapolisBest vacation ever! A hidden treasure! We loved Cummings lane, we fell in love with this peaceful haven.Beautiful cottage with more amenities than you can use. The location is perfect, you don’t need a car. Enjoyed trail to beach ,nice walk to village and pier. Our dogs which our our babies loved it. They walked in like it was their home.Dexter who is a shy a rescue. As soon as he stepped in the door , ran and sat on the doggy pillow that Art and Linda provided. The new fence is reassuring for worried guest, the back yard is wonderful,we spent most of our time there while we were in the cottage. Our favorite was the wonderful high pressure hot outside shower,we didn’t even use inside ones. We were impressed how clean and beautiful the cottage is ,the pictures don’t give it justice .Bed ,pillows, smelled good and were so clean believe it from a frequent traveler who is used to big and expensive hotels which is not always the case.We enjoyed communicating with Art and Linda during our stay they even had the yard sprayed for mosquito’s without us asking for it. Mullet bay was one of our favorite restaurants, best not to go on weekends if you want to avoid the crowd. We loved it and can’t wait to come back this year!!! So excited,so are our doggies!Thank you Art and Linda for your hospitality , kindness, and letting us stay in your little paradise.
Valerie P. Georgia Home Away from Home! This cottage was by far the best place we have ever stayed at while on vacation! The property owners are very caring and welcoming! We had never been to Georgia before this trip and had no idea what to expect. In the cottage there was a guide of things and places to go and the owners also informed us of these places before we arrived. It was as if we were extended family. I only have highly positive things to say about this place. After a normal vacation, the 4th day, I am getting ready to go home…I did not want to leave this time! Thank you again for helping make this the greatest vacation ever!
Happy travelerRiverside CaliforniaSeptember in St Simons IslandDelightful cottage complete with everything one could image….and then some. Tons of local information, great location……we’re definitely going back.
FergyCanton, GAFirst Timer’s in St. Simon’s IslandAs best friends we vacation together each year and look for places that can accommodate both us and our critters (when one of us lost one of our cats this year, Mr Art and Ms Linda couldn’t have been more accommodating by allowing us to bring both the dog and a cat). The cottage is absolutely perfect. In fact, we selected it based on the great responses it has received and it exceeded all expectations. It is warm, cozy and yet spacious. Very quiet setting and very conveniently located to everything you need, including short walks to the beach and to the village. The cottage offers a fenced in back yard and is within walking distance to several parks. We absolutely loved our stay there and would return again to the exact same place. Mr Art and Ms Linda couldn’t have been better hostesses even if they had been there when we arrived. They have thought of EVERYTHING to make the stay as comfortable as can be. An absolutely “A” rating in our book!
Carolyn V.Salem, NJSecond stay even better than first!!!!Once again, our stay at this cottage was wonderful!!! We were all so happy to be back. The boys didn’t even want to stop and eat on our 12 hour ride over to the island…….so we made drive-thru stops. The cottage was better than we left it last summer!!! We loved the larger deck outside and the new outdoor shower. The cottage had everything we needed!! We rented bikes this year for the entire week…..and we rode daily to the beaches, village, and pier. The cottage is located perfectly!!! We love it and the island!!! We will be back next summer!!!! Thank you Mr Art and Ms Linda
AnonymousThe BEST timeWe loved our stay in this charming cottage on St. Simons! From the minute we stepped in it was like home. We had everything we would ever need and more. The owners thought of everything from hangers in the closet, to a Winn Dixie card for your grocery trips. We brought our bishon and cheweenie who loved having the run of the fenced in backyard. I spent many hours reading my book on the front porch swing and when the bugs came out at night I would move to the screened in porch where we loved eating outside and listening to the night sounds. We rode our bikes everywhere! The cottage is in a perfect location for walking or riding bikes to the village or pier. The kids loved using the outside shower! The owners went out of their way to be helpful. We will defiantly be coming back!
AnonymousCanton GeorgiaComfortable and Walk to Everything + Owners Couldn’t be NicerThe cottage is very homey and comfortable and it is in a perfect, shady location with an easy walk to both beach and town. It was really perfect. We started out our 8 days there with two couples, 1 9-year-old boy, and 2 medium-sized dogs, and the house felt big enough for all, especially since the bedrooms each have their own baths. The second half of our stay it was just me and my husband and our two dogs and it felt like a perfect cottage just for us. We LOVED not having to drive, sipping coffee on the front porch in the morning, and all the big beautiful trees in the area. It is worth the long drive for us to come here—we hope to come back soon! Also, to Art & Linda, THANK YOU, for making this a dog-friendly house! Our 2 pups really enjoyed the calm beach at low tide—-they are both scared of big waves, and the truth is I’m not so brave about them either : – ) —– and they went in swimming for the first time! We had such a good time with them along. I would definitely recommend this property to others.
AnonymousArlington, VA, USAPerfect Family & Pet Friendly Cottage GetawayOur family were very pleased with this cottage and I think our children and little dachshunds would have liked to stay all year round! The owners have thought of everything that you might need and then some. We especially loved the fenced in back yard with the awesome hot/cold private showers. This amenity was great for everyone rinsing off, and especially the dogs after a beach walk. Now our children think we need a shower in own own backyard 🙂 The backyard is the perfect balance of shade and sun while listening to many of the wonderful local birds on St. Simon’s ~ from Terns, Woodpeckers, and Northern Parula… but the best of all, a Screech Owl family fledged babies while we stayed at the cottage into the back yard! Listening to the adults calling to the babies in their soft trilling call was a rare treat for us on the deck at nights. The children also made use of the other outdoor water source in the front yard to wash off their beach finds and loved the front porch swing. We cooked every day and found nothing missing. We also made use of the nice utility room and appreciated the covered carport to park our bikes and leave our beach gear ~ The screened in porch was a nice spot in the evenings to listen for night sounds and enjoy the night air. The master bedroom’s large walk in closet gave us plenty of room to keep all of our luggage so we felt at home the entire week and the second bedroom had plenty of storage as well. The walk from the cottage to the beach was pleasant. We loved the location to Massengill park and to our favorite shop, The Pane in the Glass. We hated to leave but will be back!
AnonymousKennesaw, GAFABULOUS!ne of the best vacations ever! The cottage was perfect with every amenity imaginable! Perfect location! Walk to the village and the beach! Cottage was immaculate and exactly as described and pictured! Actually even better in person! 🙂 Would ABSOLUTELY recommend this cottage! You will not be disappointed!
Linda L.Couldn’t be better!Mom & 3 adult sisters went to SSI for long weekend. Art & Linda’s house was incredible! It was spotless, very comfortable and you wanted to live on the front porch or screen porch! One sister loves to camp so she totally enjoyed the outdoor shower! The yard-front & back-was complete tranquility! We will schedule future trips only when this house is available. Thanks Art & Linda!
Pamela S.Clean, quiet and comfortableThis is a great little cottage to just get away from everything. The village and beach are a short bicycle ride or walk away but the side street its on makes it feel isolated. Art and Linda have taken a lot of pride in making sure everything is just right and were a joy to deal with! Hope to go back.
John K.How Soon Can We Come Back?!My husband, I, and our two Wheaten Terriers absolutely loved our getaway to SSI. The cottage on Cummings Lane was ideally located a short walk away to beach, dining, and shopping in the Village. The cottage itself was perfectly appointed with everything you might need. The kitchen was thoughtfully prepared with gadgets, bakeware, mixers, tupperware, etc. The cottage had wifi and premium cable tv for those days and/or evenings when you just felt like staying in. Lots of extra blankets, towels… and the bed was COMFY!! Located on a very quiet lane, I was very proud of myself for having picked the perfect rental. Our family vacations include all of the family which means our two dogs come along every time. To have our dogs welcomed as the were all over the island left us and our warm fuzzies with a warm, fuzzy feeling. We certainly anticipate coming back soon!
MICHELE V.Great Rental!!This house is adorable and location is convenient to village and beaches! The owners are top notch and always accommodating and eager to help with information about the island and/or questions about property etc… House was well stocked above and beyond other properties we’ve rented! Beds are comfortable with TV in each bedroom. Cable and wifi are great. Art and Linda even provided a nice bottle of wine from their home state of NY which we enjoyed throughout the week. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving feast. Use the discount card for Winn Dixie on the refrigerator! The locals are outstanding and take pride in the island always helpful with info. Got a $20 dollar haircut at Nichole’s Cut Hut with one chair in the Village. It is adorable and Nichole is neat!! Mullet Bay is a great restaurant with great service in our experience. Had lunch specials (fish tacos and Prime Rib sandwich) delicious!! Again I can’t say enough about this rental. Very roomy with plenty of closet, shelf, and drawer space. It was my husband, myself, our dogs and it was perfect. The beds and pillows are very comfortable with TV in each bedroom. We didn’t have to buy paper towels, toilet paper, bath soap, hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, kleenix, kitchen trash bags and stayed for a week!! Plenty of hangars, some family movies, and a TON of books. I searched diligently for pet friendly affordable rentals in SSI before deciding on this one and there is no doubt we got the best one for the price in the area. Would have made better use of the sun and front porch had the wx been warmer and/or nicer but we had fun relaxing, reading, and watching the TV’s. East Beach is real nice and was told it always has lots of beach!! Jekyl Island was a real neat day trip but had the most fun going for walks down to the village. It was our first visit and if possible we will be back and will rent from Art and Linda again. Parking our van behind the house right next to the back door was convenient and very private. If you rent this cottage I’m pretty confident you will not be disappointed!!!
ShellyByron, GAHome Away From Home![]() We, along with our two dogs, were looking to have a quiet and relaxing vacation. That’s exactly what we got at Art and Linda’s cottage. We enjoyed the pretty landscaping every evening from the front porch sipping our cocktails. That was the first thing we did after unpacking the car. The welcome bottle of wine was a very nice touch! The cottage sits back off a quiet little street only wide enough for one car at a time. The yard was very clean and had no doggie pies at all, unlike our last stay at another house on the island. This was our second time staying on SSI and definitely our favorite. The cottage was very homey and comfortable and equipped better than my own home! Bed was very comfortable and there was a walk in closet equipped with hangers and extra bedding and pillows and plenty of dressers for storage. The kitchen had everything you could imagine needing and more. Electric wine opener, who thinks of that! Loved the convenience of having a washer and drier also. There were brochures and magazines of SSI and surrounding areas also, all the way down to Jacksonville, Florida. Location was perfect for walking our dogs to and on the beach, also through some neighborhoods looking at some of the nice houses. We went to Massengale Park many times beachcombing at low tide with the dogs or riding our bikes on the beach. We also rode the bike paths and covered pretty much all of the island right from the house. We rode 25 miles one day alone! Not bad for a couple of rusty old out of shape riders. A walk to town is a breeze and a little convenience store/gas station is around the corner as well as a park. We hope to return to this little gem some time in the near future. Thank you Art and Linda for all your help and hospitality. Favorite restaurant; CJ’s (awesome pizza with interesting décor) Favorite shopping: Pane In The Glass, Island Dog
Joe R.DetroitPrivate, Cozy & Dog Friendly Vacation Homef you’ve read the previous reviews you will see that this place is private, cozy and feels like home as soon as you pull into the driveway. Park your car in the back under the carport and settle in. We brought our two dogs (medium sized) and they had a blast playing catch in the back yard. It is not currently fully fenced, but we brought a portable fence to cover the driveway and made do with temp fencing to block the other side of the house. (Please inquire about fencing – the owners may offer ideas and they’ve mentioned plans to fully fence it in.) The previous renters with dogs did a very nice job of keeping the yard picked up, which if you’ve rented dog friendly places before, you can fully appreciate a clean yard when you arrive. You can spray down the dog after a day at the beach with the outdoor hand shower (shown in the picture with the section of lattice work on the left side of the house). Dogs are allowed on the beach year round but in high season they are limited to a smaller section of beach. Dogs are welcome at most restaurants that have outdoor seating. We didn’t spend time on the front porch with our dogs since it is open & the railing are too low to keep our dogs in, plus there are several local cats that wander by that would be very tempting for our girls to chase. We enjoyed our meal times in the screened-in patio. Bike riding on the beach at low tide after breakfast at the Palm Coast Cafe was our favorite way to start the day. This was our first visit to St Simons Island and we loved the vibe. The locals & other vacationers were friendly and made it wonderful to walk and bike the neighborhood. The Village (shopping & restaurants), pier, lighthouse & beach are walkable from the cottage. The home is very private with tall fencing on 3 sides and set back from the quiet road. Two couples sharing this house would be very comfortable since the second bedroom & bath have a small hallway with a separate door, making a private en-suite. There are rental cottage homes on both sides of the cottage and our experience was very good. The bottom-line is that Art & Linda have made this cottage their home and they have generously opened up their home to us. It really is that nice!!
AnonymousComfy & Closert & Linda’s cottage was a welcoming and comfortable place to stay for our first trip to SSI. The convenient location made for enjoyable walks to the village and the beach, and the quiet setting of the cottage & neighborhood provided relaxing evenings on the porch. We had everything we needed at the cottage, and our dog felt right at home too! A great place to stay!
BevJeffersonville, INUnforgettably Wonderful! Thanks to the gracious owners of our vacation home, we were able to add an extra day on. Art and Linda are great folks from the get-go, who went out of their way and over and above what is ‘expected’ of host and hostess to make us feel at home in their home. Everything that we would normally wish we had on a vacation was there, to make the comfort of home a reality. Thanks again to these charming people for the advice on local eateries, and for taking the time to make sure their home was our home! I can think of nothing that was left undone, unanswered, or undelivered. We would stay again, and highly recommend this quiet, homey, comfortable rental to anyone. Even our two West Highland Terriers were welcome and made to feel at home. A nice, relaxing evening on the porch or deck or a long walk on the beach can be had. A bicycle ride into town and around many of the local sights is available within a short distance. A short car trip or a day long adventure is close at hand in St. Simons Island. Come and relax and rejuvenate your soul by the beach. Excellent food in close by restaurants or cook your own gourmet meal in this well equipped kitchen. You can do all of this and more, or just a rest on the bench at the beach watching the Pelicans feeding. Everything here is perfect for any of these things. Whatever you want to do on your trip it can be done here. Our heartiest thanks for the hospitality from Art and Linda and the town of Saint Simons Island. We miss it already!
Judith W.Great experience! We were able to spend several days at Art and Linda’s cottage and had a wonderful time. It is a very pretty place with lovely landscaping. Everything was clean and well maintained. I look forward to the opportunity to go to the island and stay at Art and Linda’s place again.
Lexington traveler, Lexington SCQuiet & Cozy with all Amenities![]() We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect cottage. This cottage offers all the amenities one looks for. Quiet, cozy & clean. Kitchen is stocked with all tools needed from dishes to electric wine bottle opener. Extra towels & blankets, washer & dryer, tourist brochures, books and simply beautiful decor. A definite Home Away from Home feel! Short, quiet walks to beaches & village. Our favorite part of the trip was beach combing. Thank you, Linda & Art! We look forward to seeing you next time.
Brian, TexasA Gathering of Sisters![]() It was a lovely place to spend some ‘sister’ time – time to laugh a lot, cry a little and have some lovely fun on St Simons Island. The cottage was just as pictured and such a comfortable place to spend our time, so much nicer than renting hotel rooms. We found ourselves on the beach to watch the sunrise, oh how lovely! The ‘village’ was so close we managed to roam the streets on several occasions checking out the shops and restaurants as well as the pier just ‘looking’ AND don’t forget the lighthouse! So many things to do on the island and the house is so well equipped that we lacked for nothing – the screened porch was our favorite place to sit and enjoy a relaxing breakfast and dinner on two occasions and the front porch was our very favorite place to sit and just relax and visit. The owners were available if we had questions and checked in with us on one occasion to see that all was going well.
Sister L, Seattle, WADelightful and Peaceful Stay![]() Our family really enjoys peaceful stays and we were completely delighted with our stay at Art and Linda’s Cottage. The location was shady and the neighborhood was quiet. The cottage itself was so incredibly well kept and stocked with every kitchen item one could need. The in house laundry was a nice bonus and all advertisements were honest. The fact that the owners allow pets was our big decision.maker! We enjoyed Palm Coast Coffee, Sals Pizza an Southern Soul BBQ. They all get highest marks for food, cleanliness and nice staff.
Chandler from Arizona, GeorgiaPet friendly beach vacation![]() We had the most wonderful time spending our vacation here at Art & Linda’s cottage in St Simon Island. As you will read from other reviews, this cottage lacks nothing. They have provided items I would have never thought of (even a clothes steamer). My sister and I always take a “sister beach trip” each year and this year I brought my two Golden Retrievers. They had a blast at the beach but more important they were completely welcomed and comfortable at the cottage. Working with Art and Linda was so easy and they keep up the communication through your stay.. if you need anything just call and its done. Even though the cottage is not on the beach, the short walk to it is easy and nice. The quiet road was great at night and safe enough that I felt comfortable letting my dogs off leash to play. Every picture that is shown is correct and the cottage is well taken care of. We are already looking into coming back next year.
Sister Weekend Getaway, TennesseeLove this Cottage and Art and Linda were wonderful!!!![]() In my 58 yrs. we have stayed in numerous condos, houses and cottages…. This one is incredible!!! Art and Linda, you have made sure that everything is there that a renter will need. I couldn’t believe how well stocked the kitchen was with anything you could possibly need. I do believe that you have thought of everything to make a vacation so comfortable. I love the front porch with the rockers and the swing!!! The bed was so comfortable and I love the closets! We had plenty of room to hang clothes and I didn’t even need to bring my own hangers!!! You thought of everything and I would highly recommend this to everyone!!!! Thank you for the bottle of wine too!! Thank you so much for making our stay incredible!!! We will be back for sure!!
Donna M, Conyers, GACute cottage, close to everything!![]() Very nice cottage, clean, and close to beach and city center area! Would definitely stay here again! Owners are very nice and easily contacted for any questions.
Ruby R, Cumming, GA
Feels like home![]() This cottage is very adorable! We found it to be quite like home. It is conveniently located within the island. We walked to the beach and the village everyday. Our golden retriever also enjoyed his stay at the cottage! He got to take a stroll to the beach every morning. The owners are very nice and always a phone call away when needed. The kitchen has every utensil, pot/pan, and dish you will need. We are already planning our trip back to the cottage next summer. My family and I loved it!
MissyWonderful Trip! Comfortable stay!![]() What a great cottage! I was very pleased with my stay. I found it to be very spacious and clean, inside and out. As soon as I arrived, I knew that I had chosen the right place. There was plenty of parking, and I was able to pull the car around back, right up to the door. It made unloading heavy luggage and coolers much, much less of a chore. The yard was great, very puppy friendly. We have an older dog who really enjoyed being able to go out and come back in with just a single step. The yard was great as well. Very private, on a quiet street. She was able to run around off-leash with no worries. The front porch is delightful. It was so nice to sit, relax, and enjoy the beautiful weather. The accommodations inside were very, very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was very well appointed, so staying in and cooking ended up saving me a good bit of money on the trip. The location is great. Very convenient to both the beach and the village. I was pleased to have both the location, but still be in such a quiet neighborhood. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful cottage with me. I will definitely be back! Jeff H.
We could not ask for a better owner/client relationship![]() We enjoyed the cottage and its proximity to the beaches, restaurants and town square. The area was very quiet. The cottage was spacious and fully loaded for all of our needs. We could not ask for a better owner/client relationship. The owners were more than eager to make sure that our stay was a pleasant one. We look forward to going back next year to see the improvements they have planned to make the cottage experience even better. Price wise: Very good compared to the other choices. Well worth the price! Dan and Dianne S, Fayetteville, GA
