There are so many fun activities on and around St Simons Island: Biking, Fishing, Golf, Kayaking, Paddleboards, Tennis, and Local Music. You are going to have a great time!
It’s great to have a bike on St Simons Island. Bring your own or rent one at one of the local bike shops. Use it to get around from our cottage to dining, bars, stores in the Village, or explore the entire island. There are bike paths everywhere and you can ride all the way to the north end of the island (about a 25 mile round trip from the cottage). Also a day trip to Jekyll Island with your bikes is a great time.
St. Simons Island is a great for water sports! There is everything from kayaking to windsurfing to stand-up-paddleboarding. You can even rent a Hobie on the beach.
On the island you can play King and Prince or Sea Palms Golf courses. Off the island within a 30 to 35 minute drive are the three courses on Jekyll Island plus Heritage Oaks in Brunswick and Sanctuary Golf Club in Waverly (exit 26 off I-95).
If you like to fish you can fish right off the beach or off the St Simons Pier. There are several fishing charter companies if you’d like to go deep sea fishing.
Since its destination as a wildlife refuse in 1962, Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge has served as a premier nesting, foraging, and wintering habitat for many species of wildlife. You may see endangered wood storks and the colorful painted bunting.
You can also play with your dog on the beach, go birding, or book a trip on the Emerald Princess Casino Boat if you like to play casino games.
St. Simons Island has a great local music scene. Check out the bars and restaurants or special events to see who is playing. The talent is truly amazing!
The Neptune Park Fun Zone is the place to putt, swim, and play on St. Simons Island.
The whole family will enjoy an 18-hole miniature golf course. Open year round, the golf course offers fun for groups of any size ($8 per round, discounts available for large groups).
Cool off this summer at the Neptune Park Fun Zone pool ($8/day, open during spring & summer seasons). There is something for everyone, including a wading pool and water gym for the kids, lap lanes, and zero-entry access. All areas are constantly monitored by American Red Cross-certified lifeguards.
